In a study conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) between September last year and June this year, engineering students from five southern states – Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh – accounted for over half of the learning assessment exams. According to the AICTE survey study, which found that first-year engineering students score poorly in math when compared to other key disciplines, undergrads from Tamil Nadu had the most assessments (24,499), whereas just three students from Goa signed up for it. The West Bengal Assembly on Monday passed a bill to replace Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as the Chancellor of all state-run universities, amid opposition by BJP legislators.
