Australia’s performing arts school is acquired by GEDU

The Australian Performing Arts Conservatory in Brisbane was acquired by UK-based Global Education Holdings in December of 2023, coinciding with a series of acquisitions the education group made. In the capital city of Queensland, the performing arts school provides undergraduate courses in song and dance, screen production, and acting.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ray Lloyd stated, “GEDU is building a diverse portfolio of educational institutions and services to offer high quality, accessible, skill-oriented higher education across the globe.”

“With its stellar reputation for providing performing arts education, the acquisition of APAC enables us to expand both our geographic reach into Australia and the scope of our curriculum offerings.”

With the acquisitions of Tampa-based Schiller International University, Paris-based École de Management Appliqué, and London-based MLA College in 2023, GEDU increased its presence in the US, the UK, and France.

Additionally, it is the owner of English Path, which grew in Ireland by acquiring NCG Dublin following the English language provider’s 2022 opening of a branch in Malta. The English language provider primarily serves the UK and Dubai. Toronto, Canada is home to another English Path center.

Soon, locations in Riyadh and Berlin will also open. Previously known as the Australian Stage Combat School, APAC is registered with CRICOS and has an accreditation from TEQSA.

According to GEDU, its global reach is being further expanded with its entry into the Australian market. It stated that, in the three months leading up to December, APAC is the fourth brand to join the GEDU group.
