For international students wishing to enroll in York University’s full-time undergraduate program, the university offers the Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship and the International Entrance Scholarships of Distinction.
Under any of the following faculties: Arts, Media, Performance & Design; Environmental Studies; Education; Glendon; Health; Lassonde School of Engineering; Liberal Arts & Professional Studies; Science; or the Schulich School of Business, any undergraduate degree program starting in the fall of 2024
Scholarship value/inclusions
- $180,000 ($45,000 x 4 years) is the President’s International Scholarship of Excellence.
- Tentanda Via Prize: $120,000 ($30,000 multiplied by four years)
- Award: $80,000 ($20,000 x 4 years) for Global Leader of Tomorrow
If a high academic standing is maintained each academic year, all of the aforementioned scholarships are renewable for three years of full-time undergraduate study.
You must fulfill all of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the Major International Scholarships:
- To study in Canada, you must be an international student and hold a valid study permit.
- Needed to have submitted an application for a York undergraduate program starting in the fall of 2024.
- To be eligible for the Tentanda Via Award, applicants must have applied to York directly out of high school, no later than two years after graduation, and without any prior college or university coursework.
- A minimum “A” average or the equivalent is required, along with a stellar academic record.
- Must have shown leadership via volunteer work, accomplishments in the community, or success in the arts, sports, or other domains.
- One recommendation letter or any other necessary supporting documentation must be uploaded.
- By February 15, 2024, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time, make sure that all necessary documents are indicated as “Received” in the York application (MyFile).
- The online International Student Scholarship Application must be filled out and submitted by February 15, 2024, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
The online International Student Scholarship & Award Application form must be filled out in order to apply. It is necessary to have a 9-digit York reference number, which you will get after applying to York within 5 business days. The deadline for York scholarship applications is February 15, 2024, so you must apply for admission well in advance.
