L’Oréal India is inviting applications for its latest edition of the ‘For Young Women in Science’ Scholarship (FYWIS) 2023. Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship at the official website — foryoungwomeninscience.co.in . The application deadline for this is January 7, 2024.
Only female students who completed Class 12 (Science stream) in the current academic year (2021–2022) and received at least 85% of their marks in PCM, PCB, or PCMB are eligible for this scholarship. Furthermore, in the current academic year, 2022–2023, the applicants must have been accepted into an undergraduate (bachelor’s) program in a science-related field at an accredited college or university in India.
Only female students whose family income is less than Rs. 6 lakhs annually will be awarded the scholarship.
The chosen candidates will go through a telephone interview round following the screening and shortlisting of the applications received. Following this, the selected candidates and their parents will be invited for an in-person interview with a jury made up of notable scientists, academicians, journalists, etc.
The jury round will be held in a hybrid format this year; candidates can choose to attend virtually or in person in places like Mumbai, New Delhi/NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
The programme was instituted in 2003 and it has consistently helped young women to pursue graduation studies in science and scientific streams.
