The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has set up a new career guidance service centre at its institute to integrate all placement, internship and student career development activities. The student-run Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of IIT Madras has also been integrated into this.
The Career Pathway Center is part of the institute’s effort to create a single, cohesive platform for aiding students on a variety of career paths. According to a statement from IIT Madras, this program is a critical step in giving students the chances, resources, and skill set they need to thrive in the rapidly changing workplace.
The Career Pathway Center’s mission is to provide students the freedom to explore and select their own career paths. It is intended to give students access to a single location where they can acquire knowledge, critical skills, and experience in an entrepreneurial setting. Students can explore possible career opportunities by connecting with companies through the Placement and Internship office.
In addition to providing academic preparation, the Career Development Cell trains soft skills, and the Entrepreneurship Cell allows students to experiment with opportunities for self-employment. Students will gain from extensive training, networking opportunities, entrepreneurial endeavors, and improved employability through the new center.
The newly created Career Pathway Center’s main responsibilities will be to professionally develop students’ skills, support prospective student fraternities’ entrepreneurial endeavors, and make it easier for recruiters to hire students for internships and placements.
