The Indian institute of Technology, Jodhpur is inviting applications from PhD applicants for January 2024. The Institute will accept applications till October 20. Applicants can apply at the official website — oa.iitj.ac.in/PG_ADMISSION/
IIT Jodhpur’s PhD programs are all evaluated by written exams and/or interviews. Admissions to PhD programs are available for both multidisciplinary and specialized programs.
The following categories of PhD programs are offered: Regular with Institute Assistantship, Individual Fellowship (CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/INSPIRE, etc.), and Joint Programs. Sponsored, Professionals in the workforce, part-timers, part-timers (online), INRAs (Indian Nationals Residing Abroad), and visitors.
The applicant must hold a master’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, agricultural science, science, humanities, social sciences, or management with at least 60% overall or at least 6.0/10 CPI or CGPA (55 percent for SC/ST/PD) for general/gen-ews/OBC applicants.
Without taking the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), BTech graduates from centrally supported technical institutions (CFTI) with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are qualified to apply to all PhD programs at IIT Jodhpur. However, in order to qualify, students with CGPAs below 8.0 must take the GATE.
Regular PhD candidates are qualified for Research Assistantships (RA) and Teaching Assistantships (TA) [Financial support in accordance with Ministry of Education standard]. Additionally, the Institute provides financial aid for researchers to present their work at national and international conferences.
According to a press release, the main goals of the doctoral program at IIT Jodhpur are to conduct cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary research and to prepare the next generation of academics to inspire sustainable solutions in future technologies.
