NEIU For You Scholarship 2.0 is Available From Northeastern Illinois University

For far too many people, the cost of a college education made it seem unreachable, but at Northeastern Illinois University, the once-unachievable college degree is now firmly within reach thanks to the NEIU for You Scholarship programme. Our institution suggested a scholarship programme in the spring of 2021 to boost applications, admissions, and recruitment efforts. It will pay tuition and obligatory fees for incoming first-year, full-time undergraduate students for the first year. With 330 new students enrolled in the NEIU for You programme for the fall 2021 semester, it is already proving to be successful, as seen by the over 55% increase in first-time, full-time undergraduate enrollment.

“We have a duty to make sure every student who desires a college degree has the chance to earn one because we are a university committed to helping people who are frequently underserved. We have a duty to make sure that every student who desires a college degree has the opportunity to do so as an institution committed to granting access to underserved and all students. The NEIU for You scholarship opportunity is in line with the goals of both the Illinois Board of Higher Education’s A Healthy Illinois strategic plan and our university’s mission as a designated Hispanic Serving Institution “said Gloria J. Gibson, president.

As a result of this development, the project was expanded to cover the first four years of a bachelor’s degree in tuition. Manish Kumar, vice president of NEIU for finance and administration, has been in charge of this new 2.0 effort. Everyone should be able to attend college, but financial obstacles frequently discourage students from continuing their education, according to Kumar. “We want students to enrol, but we also want them to finish their degrees and become engaged members of their communities.”
