New BA in Electrical Systems course offered by IIT Madras; JEE score not necessary

indian Institute of technology

IIT Madras (IIT Madras) has introduced a new four-year online Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Systems programme today. Those interested in this new programme can immediately apply via study.iitm.ac.in/es/, the official IIT Madras website.

Dharmendra Pradhan, the minister of education, introduced this new scheme. Following the BS Degree in Data Science and Applications, which is now being studied by more than 17,000 students, this is the second online BS programme offered by IIT Madras. It is made to satisfy the large and increasing demand for competent graduates in India’s electronics and embedded manufacturing industry.

Tuition Fee

According to the institute, the cost of the BS in Electronic Systems programme would be reasonable, and additional scholarships will be given to students who fall under the SC/ST/PwD categories, as well as those whose families make less than Rs 5 lakh annually, in order to ensure inclusivity.

Eligibility

The only requirement for eligibility for this programme is that the applicant should have studied mathematics and physics as part of their Class 12 education, regardless of age (or equivalent).

For this programme, candidates won’t need a JEE score; instead, they can qualify for a position using a four-week process that is already in place. The qualifying exam will be based only on the material presented over the course of four weeks to applicants by IIT Madras professors. The institute promised that throughout this time, candidates will receive enough support in the form of live seminars and discussion forums. There is no limit on the number of seats available in the programme, therefore anyone who achieves the minimum required score on the qualification exam may continue. Once they pass their board exams this year, students who will be in Class 12 in 2023 can also apply, get admitted, and begin the programme. Working professionals or students enrolled in any other academic programme (as permitted by current UGC standards) may also apply and advance their skills in this field.
