Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) today launched a minor stream in ‘Personal and Professional Development’. An undergraduate student needs to take a basket of courses to fulfil the requirement of minoring in the stream. The courses/programmes in this stream are aimed to aid students in their personal and professional development.
The courses given under this programme are available as electives to all students at IIT-Madras, regardless of the programme they are in, and the minor stream is open to all BTech and dual degree students.
There are currently over 15 courses available, covering topics like self-awareness, success habits and happiness, FLOW for high performance, systems thinking, and fostering creativity.
The institute already provides a number of programmes aimed at fostering leadership development and professional and personal growth. Each year, about 1,500 students sign up for these classes.
