In today’s information-driven society, multimedia plays a highly significant role in conveying important messages quickly and effectively by presenting information through a combination of media. Multimedia is a field that has grown rapidly and flourished in recent times and has created many job opportunities. It is a combination of various forms of media, image, text, sound animation and graphics to produce a fast emerging most preferred choice of content creation and communication by most service sectors today. Multimedia specialist areas such as graphic designers, web designers, game designers, and animators have opened doors to career opportunities. If your teenager is considering a career as a multimedia specialist, this article is meant to give wings to those dreams.

Investing time and money in a comprehensive multimedia course is the gateway to a promising career as a multimedia specialist. The importance of multimedia jobs is also increasing in this digitalized age. This course is intended for students who are interested in learning about various types of media entertainment and techniques such as Television, Film Studies, Journalism, Video Production, Interactive Media, Computer Animation etc. The interdisciplinary program focuses on emerging trends, technologies and media managing standard practices.

Multimedia Courses

  • Animation

Animation means “the art of making inanimate objects appear to move”. In fact, animation is an ancient art. This art has its origins in ancient Greece long before this digital age. Today, most animation is accomplished through computer-generated imagery (CGI). Animations are popular in the film and gaming industry. Make a Difference Animations are on sale today. 3D animation, 2D animation, stop-motion (claymation) animation, motion graphics animation, typography animation, etc are a few forms of these. Those who are professionally involved in creating animations are called animators.

There are many graduation courses and also post diploma courses are available in this subject, such as Diploma in 3D Animation, Diploma in 2D Animation. BA in 3D Animation & Visual Effects, BSc in Multimedia Animation etc.

  • Graphic design

Graphic design is an interdisciplinary branch of design and of the fine arts. It is a profession, an academic discipline, and an applied art. Its function is to project visual communication intended to convey specific messages to social groups, with specific objectives. Design is an interdisciplinary branch of design and fine art. Graphic Designers are essentially visual communicators. They bring visual concepts to life, most commonly through graphic design software, and inform or engage consumers through text, graphics and images.

There are many graduation courses and also post diploma courses are available in this subject, such as Diploma in Graphic & Multimedia Design, Diploma in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Graphic Design & Multimedia, Bachelor in Graphic Design & Multimedia Animation.

  • Multimedia Technologies

Multimedia technologies are interactive, mostly computer-based applications that enable users to integrate, process, and utilise data from a variety of sources, e.g., text, imagery, audio, video, and Animation on a single hardware platform, e.g., mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras, printers, television, DVD players, etc. Briefly, multimedia technologies facilitate the generation, manipulation, presentation, storage, and communication of independent discrete media, e.g., text, graphics, and continuous media, e.g. Audio and video.

There are many graduation courses and also post diploma courses are available in this subject, such as Diploma in Multimedia Communication, Diploma in Graphic and Multimedia Design, Diploma in Multimedia, Diploma in Creative Multimedia and Journalism, Diploma in Art, BSc (Hons) Multimedia Technology, Bachelor in Multimedia and Journalism, BSc. Multimedia and Journalism, BA (Hons) Design (Multimedia), BA Multimedia Communication Design Technology.

  • Digital Photography

Digital photography is the process of using electronic and computing devices to capture, create, edit and share digital images/photographs. Editable and shareable images can be captured by digital cameras without the need for film. Electronic/digital cameras capture images/photographs and store them in built-in/integrated storage media cards.

There are many graduation courses and also post diploma courses are available in this subject, such as Bachelor of Cinematography, Diploma in Photography and Cinematography, Diploma in Photojournalism 

  • Web Design

Web design is a broad concept that encompasses all the procedures used to build and maintain websites. Webpage layout, graphic design, user interface (UI) design, user experience (UX) design, content creation, and search engine optimization (SEO) are some of the key components of web design.  Web design also includes web apps, mobile apps, and user interface design. The terms web design and web development are often used interchangeably.

There are many graduation courses and also post diploma courses are available in this subject, such as Diploma in Web Development, BSc. Multimedia and Web Designing, Diploma in IT & computing, Web Development and coding, Meta front-end Developer, BTech Computer science, BSc Computer science, Advanced Diploma in Automation and Web Design.

  • Typography

Typography is the art of arranging letters and text in a way that makes the copy legible, clear, and visually appealing to the reader. It involves font style, appearance, and structure, which aims to elicit certain emotions and convey specific messages. Typography spans many different fields. Typography is a popular and important concept in fields such as education, graphic design, web design, book publishing, and typing text. Professionals who engage in the practice are known as typographers.

There are many graduation courses and also post diploma courses are available in this subject, such as BA Hons in Design (Multimedia), BSc in Computer Graphics & Multimedia, Diploma in Typography and Design

Multimedia course is offered at various levels such as Diploma course, Certificate course, Undergraduate course and Postgraduate course. Degree in multimedia will offer many job opportunities in web designing, computer games designing, advertising graphics, animation and new media. Multimedia professionals are also recruited in schools, publishing houses, films and video conferencing Multimedia developers can also work as flash developers, network engineers, publishers, graphic artists, sound experts, animators, authors/content providers, project managers and picture researchers. There are many job opportunities for the graduates of these courses. Their salary is not predictable, because it changes according to everyone’s ability, creativity and working field. Developing the necessary skills, working hard, and maintaining a positive attitude can bring rich dividends for an aspirant in the rapidly growing area of multimedia.
