120 students will receive $300,000 from the Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) Foundation (“Foundation”) as part of the Kroger Scholars programme for the 2022–2023 academic year. Each scholar receives $2,500 toward any qualified two- or four-year college, institution, or vocational school. Scholars must be the children of Kroger associates. Since its inception in 2008, the Kroger Scholars Program has given out more than $4.5 million in scholarship funds.
Averie Rutter, a Kroger Scholar pursuing a degree in animal science at Findlay University, remarked, “I feel as though I have grown up at Kroger. “The past 30 years have seen my parents employed there. This will enable me to follow my passion in addition to continuing my education.” There will be more than 80 institutions across the country where the 2022–2023 Kroger Scholars are represented. A wide range of factors, such as volunteer work, community service, extracurricular activities, academic achievement, and professional experience, were taken into consideration when choosing the students.
