Launch of the Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing Program at North Park Universit

A Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing programme for students with a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing subject is being offered by Chicago’s North Park University (North Park) to students and career changers. Students who complete the programme will be equipped with the information and abilities necessary to deliver patients with safe, professional, and compassionate care. North Park University President Mary K. Surridge remarked, “This new programme is a superb illustration of North Park University’s ability to build on our traditional expertise in nursing and health sciences education.” “We are expanding our ability to educate and provide ever-increasing numbers of highly qualified and moral professionals with the tools they need to have a good influence on Chicago and beyond.
Students in the five-semester programme will conduct clinical rotations that complement their education and equip them with the knowledge and assurance they need to succeed in the workplace. All clinical rotations take place at medical facilities and neighbourhood gathering places, such as Swedish Hospital, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Lurie Children’s Hospital, Lawndale Community Health Center, and others, that have earned a reputation for nursing quality. Graduates of North Park University’s Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing programme are eligible to apply for the NCLEX-RN, the professional nurse licensure test, after meeting all degree requirements. Graduates who pass this test are qualified to work in the healthcare industry as licenced registered nurses (RNs). Graduates will also have the intellectual background required to seek more training in the area, such as a post-certification master’s in an advanced practise specialisation, nursing leadership and management, or obtaining a doctorate in nursing practise (DNP)
