The UK government has teamed up with prominent Indian companies to provide 75 fully-funded scholarships for Indian students to study in Britain beginning in September in honour of India’s 75th anniversary of independence. The British High Commission (BHC) noted in a statement that this is the most full-funding scholarships for the one-year master’s programme that have been awarded to far.

According to the high commission, organisations including HSBC, Pearson India, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Sons, and Duolingo are supporting this unique project to commemorate India’s 75th anniversary of independence. A one-year master’s programme with the option to study any subject at any reputable UK university is one of the programmes on offer. In addition, the British Council in India is providing at least 18 scholarships for women in STEM fields, which span more than 12,000 courses at more than 150 UK institutions.
The British Council is also providing six English scholarships in addition to this. The statement is made when worldwide corporate and political leaders from Britain and India assemble in London for the India Global Forum.  This is a significant milestone as India celebrates its 75th year, said Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, at the UK-India Week event of the India Global Forum in London.
