This weekend, professional builders—including kinetic artists from FOX’s Domino Masters—will try to shatter the domino run record at The Tech Interactive. With the help of almost 30,000 dominoes, Alex Huang, also known as Flash Domino, and a team of 11 builders want to shatter the previous record for the world’s biggest construction chain. Visitors may observe them at work all weekend long until they are toppled at noon on Monday, July 4.
“You can never fully predict what will happen in the very last seconds. Even with our combined decades of expertise, we’ve spent about a week constructing and rebuilding our reactions, and we’re holding our breath hoping everything comes together “explained Huang, who has close to 6,000 YouTube followers. Reactica, now in its seventh year, is California’s biggest kinetic art installation. 36 constructions totaling around 6,572 dominoes are being constructed by the master builders. Currently, 30 constructions made of 3,500 dominoes hold the world record. In addition, the group will provide members-only workshops and daily domino challenges where participants may test their dexterity and ingenuity while learning how to make entertaining and exciting constructions.
