BYJU’S AND SPELLING BEE CHAMP ZAILA AVANT-GARDE ANNOUNCE COLLABORATION TO INSPIRE LEARNING PASSION

BYJU’S, the world’s premier education technology firm, announced today that Zaila Avant-garde, the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion, has joined the company as its first American youth ambassador. Avant-garde is already a BYJU student, and as part of this relationship, she will be a high-profile champion for inspiring other young learners to pursue their aspirations, continue studying, and appreciate what makes them special. She will also be conducting a lively session at BYJU’s first-ever virtual Summer Camp this summer.

“I’m happy to be a brand ambassador for BYJU’S since I know how many students struggle in school with subjects they don’t enjoy. I’d want to demonstrate how the virtual learning platform can make that subject more enjoyable and engaging “Zaila Avant-garde expressed her opinion. “You won’t be sitting in a lecture alone writing down formulas or completing workbooks since the learning experience is hands-on and individualised. I was able to study more quickly and have a lot of fun while doing so, as well as acquire confidence in myself.”

Zaila’s relentless pursuit of knowledge has made her the first Black American winner of the Bee and a two-time Guinness World Record holder, one for the most bounce juggles in one minute with four basketballs and the other for the most basketballs dribbled at once by one person, with six basketballs. Despite her many successes, Zaila is doggedly driven to discovering new hobbies and learning more about the world around her. She is presently a student at BYJU, where she is engaged in coding and music classes. Zaila, who was already a pianist, used the platform’s one-on-one learning model to brush up on her talents, as well as learn how to develop a game with the help of her private teacher.
