Career V/S Passion: How to Make a Better Decision

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” These are the words by Harriet Tubman.

Passion is defined as a strong desire or enthusiasm for a certain activity or cause that people love to do. A career, on the other hand, might be described as a journey that everyone embarks on in order to survive.

What is a Career?

Many different things come to mind when we hear the word career, examples could be profession, occupation, trade, or vocation. It also refers to the progress and actions you have taken throughout the working years of your life, especially as they relate to your occupation. educational training in your profession, work experience, job, and so on.   It’s made up of many elements that people have accumulated over time. This isn’t just a position in a random company.

There are numerous career paths to select from, each requiring professional training and certification. Here are a few examples:

Medical, Paramedical, and pharmaceutical careers, Finance careers, Marketing careers, in Advertising, and Public Relations, Human Resource, Legal Careers, Media, NGO, Non-profit Developmental careers, etc…. All of the above-mentioned career options need specialised training and qualifications. There are specific eligibility criteria for each of these, and you cannot be affiliated with any of these job opportunities unless you have received sufficient training.

Your career could also be made up of multiple jobs that are unrelated to each another.

What is Passion?

Passion is a strong desire that can get you to do amazing things. People often try to convert their passion into a profession. Some succeed, while others fail. Passion can be defined as a strong desire to engage in an activity just because you enjoy it. Some people push their limits, while others maintain them in check.

When people decide to pursue their passion, they frequently endure criticism from their parents, family, and others. To make this process easier, they must recall some facts. Dream about it but with your eyes open, for better results, invest yourself in the activity, and do not stop at any point thinking you have reached your limit. Keep pushing yourself, never stop doing it once you have started. If you have it halfway, you won’t see the end.

The Comparison Between Career and Passion in Different Aspects.

Ambition: A stable 9 to 5 desk job career option will make you feel safer in the long run without taking any risks. Pursuing one’s passion may not start with stability, but if you pursue it for a long time with dedication, you could reach the sky.

Freedom: In any career option you will be working under someone or some authority. This means you may not have much freedom and may have to obey orders from a higher authority. Any passion you chose to follow will offer you the freedom you deserve and work freely.

Exploring: In any given career option, you cannot explore yourself to see what different skillset you might have. On the other hand, while you are pursing your passion you are free to explore yourself as much as you like until you are satisfied with something before pursuing it.

Fruitful outcome: In a career, if you may have to choose to do something forcibly and so you may or may not get the same results that you could have in other aspects. In passion, if you follow passion with proper dedication and make it your career, you will get better results than any other.

In most situations of career options, you can earn a lot of money from the beginning, however, in the pursuit of your passion, the beginning may not seem sorted. The stability of a career will help you to save for an uncertain future. Following your passion, all of the time does not provide the same luxury. All of the career options have a fixed number of working hours. Following your passion will lead you to maybe work 24/7 for better outcomes. The more you earn, the safer you feel. A career option will provide you with that, but following your passion can be hard at start. If you choose to follow your passion rather than choosing a career option just because you need to survive., you will feel alive on the inside.

The best option for anyone is to find a job that they enjoy doing. One of the finest things that may happen is turning your passion into a career. Also, keep in mind that improving efficiency and productivity cause you to lose interest in your work. Money is undeniably one of the essential things in our lives, but so is our happiness and satisfaction towards the work. In the end, it can be concluded that both passion and career come with a handful of advantages and disadvantages.
