WESTERLY, R.I., May 3, 2022 — Through Banzai, an award-winning programme and content library, Washington Trust is providing free online financial literacy information and tools to schools and students across Rhode Island. Banzai allows users to practise real-world finance using any internet-enabled device from the comfort of their own home or school. Banzai, Inc. has partnered with Washington Trust, the first financial institution in Rhode Island to do so.

According to Edward O. “Ned” Handy III, Chairman and CEO of Washington Trust, “financial literacy plays a crucial role in ensuring kids become economically empowered as adults.” “We’re delighted to give instructors with relevant, accessible, and engaging tools that will assist them in providing their pupils with a firm foundation of practical financial knowledge.”Students will learn how to manage a budget, save for a goal, understand credit, and cope with unanticipated financial difficulties using the free programme. As a consequence of Washington Trust’s sponsorship, teachers will be able to easily monitor and grade student progress remotely, as well as execute the curriculum utilising both digital and physical tools that are supplied free of charge.
