The 10 finalists for the seventh annual edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning were revealed today by edX, a top worldwide online learning platform from 2U, Inc. Eminent Indian-American academician Sunil Kumar has been appointed the next president of Massachusetts-based Tufts University, the first person of colour to occupy the position. Kumar, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Johns Hopkins University was named the next president of Tufts University by the Board of Trustees and will succeed President Anthony Monaco as Tufts’ 14th president on July 1, 2023, a statement from the university said on Thursday. 120 students will receive $300,000 from the Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) Foundation (“Foundation”) as part of the Kroger Scholars programme for the 2022–2023 academic year. Each scholar receives $2,500 toward any qualified two- or four-year college, institution, or vocational school. Scholars must be the children of Kroger associates. Since its inception in 2008, the Kroger Scholars Program has given out more than $4.5 million in scholarship funds. Delhi University has notified the number of students in each batch for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, a move that has drawn flak from teachers’ organisations for what they called bigger-than-ideal batch sizes. According to the notification sent to colleges on November 11, the DU has fixed 60 students per batch for lectures, 30 for tutorials and 25 for practical classes in undergraduate programmes. For postgraduate courses, the numbers per batch are 50, 25 and 15-20, respectively. Make Necessary Changes In Statutes, Ordinances To Hire ‘Professors Of Practice’: UGC To Universities

According to the Open Doors® 2022 Report on International Educational Exchange, which was released today by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, 948,519 foreign students from more than 200 countries studied at American higher education institutions during the 2021–2022 academic year, a 4% increase from the year before. The Delhi University on Sunday declared the third list of seat allocation for undergraduate admission, registrar Vikas Gupta said. The total number of students admitted to the varsity so far has gone beyond 61,500 as against 70,000 undergraduate seats. In the third round of the common seat allocation system (CSAS), admissions will be done to all supernumerary quotas, including extracurricular activities (ECA), sports, CW (children and widows of armed forces), and Kashmiri migrants, along with regular admissions. “The third CSAS allocation list has been declared.
