Berhampur University, Odisha has signed an agreement with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) for implementation of ocean country partnership programme (OCPP).
Under this agreement, the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS), a UK government agency, will provide scholarship for at least five students of the Marine Science Department of the varsity.
The MoU will be in effect for a minimum of two years, and it may be extended further if ACU and the Berhampur University deem it necessary.
The scholarship has been set up with the aim to support research in marine pollution, sustainable seafood and marine biodiversity. The ACU, on behalf of the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture will provide tuition fee and living allowance.
Geetanjali Dash, vice chancellor, stated, “We have signed an MoU with the ACU for the implementation of the OCPP. Additionally, we’ll look into some other opportunities for student and teacher exchange programs and collaborative research.
