The 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Fund Grant Recipients have been announced by the IEEE Computer Society

Los Alamitos, California, April 11, 2023 — The recipients of the most recent round of funds from the IEEE Computer Society’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Fund were revealed today. The IEEE CS D&I Fund, now in its second year, provides funding for initiatives that benefit the computing community’s diversity, equity, and inclusion. Eight programmes that focus on educating, training, and empowering women; Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC); and others from underrepresented groups on subjects as varied as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, programming, and more, were chosen by IEEE CS out of the 87 proposals received for the most recent round of D&I funding.

Nita Patel, the 2023 IEEE CS President, stated that representation in computer science and computer engineering is crucial. “Because of this, IEEE CS continues to support programmes that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and enhance representation. We are happy to be able to sponsor eight more initiatives that will benefit underrepresented groups and have a long-term effect on the computing industry as a whole.”
