The Gardner School declares that it has acquired The Compass School

The Compass School, a Cincinnati-based daycare service serving families in Illinois, Virginia, and Ohio, has been acquired by The Gardner School, an academically oriented childcare provider with twenty-four schools in seven states. Quad Partners, a private equity company with a focus on education with headquarters in New York, owns the majority of The Gardner School. Along with The Gardner School, Quad Partners has contributed to the development of several other notable childcare businesses, such as The Learning Experience, Stratford Schools, and Endeavor Schools.

According to Scott Thompson, CEO and Founder of The Gardner School, “The Compass School’s commitment to self-guided, engaged learning in a supportive setting makes it a natural fit for The Gardner School family.” “To deliver a world-class education for all of our students, we will build on its historic legacy of success in academics and social-emotional development.” According to Martin Brill, president and owner of The Compass School, “I’m grateful to the families we’ve had the honour of working with since 1999 and for the trust they’ve given us as educators and caregivers.” “With The Gardner School’s philosophy of encouraging self-motivated growth in a secure, supportive atmosphere, their trust is still in very capable hands. The Gardner School’s mission is a reflection of the fundamental principles that have guided our children and their families for 23 years.”
Quad Partners’ co-founder and managing partner Daniel Neuwirth commented, “At The Compass School, Martin and his staff have left an unique legacy in their neighbourhoods. We wish to give more families access to such high-quality early childhood education and we seek to respect and protect everything they have built.” The Compass School’s seven facilities in Naperville, Illinois; Warrenville, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio; Powell, Ohio; Ashburn, Virginia; and Manassas, Virginia are all included in the acquisition.
